The Browns are reportedly interested in Kevin Kolb, who is now backing up Michael Vick for the Eagles.
Browns general manager Tom Heckert, who came from the Eagles, drafted Kolb in the second round in 2007 out of Houston.
Chargers Reject Several Offers For Jackson As Deadline Passes
The San Diego Chargers have rejected several trade offers for wide receiver Vincent Jackson, letting the Wednesday deadline to trade him pass without making a deal, according to multiple sources.
The NFL and the NFL Players' Association had agreed to a 4 p.m. ET deadline for San Diego to trade Jackson, which would have allowed him to be active by the fifth week of the regular season.
By letting Wednesday's deadline pass, the Chargers will keep Jackson on the exempt list for the first six weeks of the season. San Diego still can trade him by the Oct. 19 trade deadline.
"We had multiple offers and the Chargers squashed them all," Jonathan Feinsod, one of Jackson's agents, said.
Eagles Receive Several Trade Calls For Kolb
The Philadelphia Eagles have received numerous calls about the availability of quarterback Kevin Kolb from several teams, according to a senior team official.
"We have had calls," the team official said Wednesday.
When asked Wednesday whether Kolb would be on the Eagles' roster after the Oct. 19 trade deadline, Andy Reid said, "Listen, I can't predict anything down that far, nobody in this league can do that."
Vikings Silent On Possible Jackson Trade
Brad Childress declined to comment on whether the Vikings might make a play for Vincent Jackson.
"He's really not a guy I'm able to speak about for the fact that he's their property," Childress said. "I wouldn't get into any speculation on anybody on anybody else's roster."
Rodgers Would Welcome Lynch, Bills Aren't Dealing
The Packers might add a running back after losing starter Ryan Grant for the season due to an ankle injury.
The Bills have a surplus of rushers, which has led to trade rumors involving Marshawn Lynch.
Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers was a teammate of Lynch's at Cal.
"Bring him on," Rodgers said when asked about Lynch.
However, Buffalo coach Chan Gailey didn't sound as though he felt Lynch would be moved.
"Opinions vary as to whether there are too many or not," said Gailey.
"Obviously in preseason we didn't have too many. I know Green Bay wishes they had one more than they had. Everybody has got opinions about what's right and we feel like having the three we have right now is a very good situation for us. We have to continue to get better with each one of them and see how their roles play out as the year goes on. This is a situation in the NFL where you can't have too many good running backs sometimes."
A.J. Hawk Would Be Open To Trade
Packers coach Mike McCarthy says that linebacker A.J. Hawk would be open to a potential trade.
Hawk didn't play a single snap from scrimmage for Green Bay in their season-opening victory at Philadelphia.
The Packers drafted Hawk fifth overall in 2006.
"A.J. is a pro's pro and wants to do his part to help the team win, and his first priority is to be the best Packer he can," McCartney said.
"But if some team called and wanted him to play on all three downs, I think he'd be excited about that."
Redskins Haven't Heard From Jets About Haynesworth
As of Tuesday, the Jets had not yet called the Redskins about disgruntled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
Haynesworth's name has been mentioned in numerous trade rumors this offseason and New York is in need of a defensive tackle after the loss of Kris Jenkins.
New York uses a base 3-4 defense, which may not be a good fit for Haynesworth.
Vikings Pursuing Vincent Jackson
The Vikings may be making a play for Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson, according to reports out of Minnesota.
"Source tells me Vikes making a play for V Jack. Not sure if anything eminent. I have NOT confirmed or got a denial from Vikes," Henry Lake of KFAN wrote on his Twitter page.
Redskins Won't Deal Haynesworth This Week
Trade rumors have surrounded Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth as of late, but Washington coach Mike Shanahan says that he'll be with the team this weekend.
"Albert will be with our team on Sunday," Shanahan said of the team's season opener against Dallas.
On Tuesday, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that the Redskins were talking to the Titans about trading Haynesworth.
Haynesworth Back To Titans?
The Redskins and Titans are discussing a trade that would send defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth back to Tennessee, according to sources.
Washington signed Haynesworth away from the Titans on a seven-year, $100 million contract in 2009 as a free agent.
